If you were around when the Model T was first announced, you could have created the organizations that became Disney, McDonald’s, and Holiday Inn, all fueled by cheap, plentiful cars. You could have become a major developer of suburbs, mortgages and even pop music labels (car radios changed the way music was consumed).
The AI is here now and the pace is amazing. So far, I haven’t seen many freelancers or small business owners choose to make an impact by understanding what it can do and sell processes and services to larger organizations in ways that dramatically change how they operate.
I asked him for some suggestions. Here are some:
- Spreadsheet analysis: Analyze spreadsheets for trends, errors, and provide statistical summaries.
- Code debugging: Identify errors in code snippets and suggest fixes.
- Language translation: Translate text between multiple languages with context preservation.
- Drafting of a Legal Document: Draft basic legal documents, contracts and NDAs with customizable inputs.
- Nutritional Analysis: Analyze meal plans or recipes for nutritional content and suggest improvements.
- Learning & Creating Quizzes: Create educational quizzes and flashcards on various topics for self-testing.
- Continue comments: Provide feedback on resumes, including suggestions for improvement based on industry standards.
- Therapy Session Simulation: Simulating therapeutic conversations, offering cognitive behavioral support and techniques.
- Analysis of Music Theory: Analyze music theory concepts in compositions and suggest modifications or improvements.
- Create a training plan: Create personalized training plans based on your fitness goals, available equipment and time constraints.
- Poetry and story writing: Write poems, stories, or even entire books based on detailed prompts or themes.
- Scientific Research Summary: Summarize complex scientific research papers in understandable language.
- Business Name & Logo Creation: Create creative and relevant business names and slogans based on industry and core values.
- Meditation and Mindfulness Exercises: Guide through meditation and mindfulness exercises tailored to specific needs or duration.
- Fashion tips: Provide fashion advice, including outfit suggestions based on occasion, weather and personal style.
Some of them are tricks in the living room, in the same way that the lava lamp would not exist without electricity in the house. However, they point to an escalating change in our infrastructure and a real need for people writing prompts rather than following them.
My belief is that like many technological revolutions before it, this breakthrough is going to create far more jobs than it destroys. But change is real, and it’s here now.
