We see some significant underperformance. It’s unfortunate, but let’s be honest, the market is only carried by a small number of companies. As interest rates fall, the portfolio should outperform. Fortunately, however, dividend increases continue.
ZOE
November was another great month. After wanting a new shed for years, we finally pulled the trigger. We built a 16×10 shed in the back yard and while it is a shed right now, the plan is to make it a men’s shed. Ar Ar Ar! You have to set it up a bit and then start insulating it but it’s finally there! Bring on the card games with the boys without children running and shouting everywhere =)
With the end of November comes the end of the landscape season. We closed before the beginning of December and it seemed perfect timing. We had snow that weekend and the next week it was freezing. Here we are December 12th and it will be 9 degrees on Friday. Crazy! but at least I won’t be setting up the hockey rink in the backyard this year =)
On December 1st we went on a nice family trip to Florida for a week. Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios and 4-Day Cruise. It was a wonderful moment. Universal was absolutely amazing, we did almost all the rides at universal and the harry potter area. These Harry Potter coasters and this 4d ride were absolutely incredible. This was part of the kids Christmas present and they seem to be absolutely fine with it.
They have enough crap. Experiences over things always!
Grateful
Movember has come to an end once again. After rocking the stache all November, my total raised in 2023 was $300. In total since registering for Movember, this stache has raised $1,340 for men’s health. Shout out to Keith from Divhut. He was the first person in this online financial community to donate to our movember since I posted about it. Thanks a lot Keith

Raises/Cuts
Oh yes, there were raises this month!
- Suncor – Raised theirs 4.8% adding $43 to our forward earnings.
- CoucheTard announced a 25% increase adding $29.54 to our forward earnings.
- Enbridge They raised theirs 3.1% adding $35.20 to our annual dividends
- TD Bank they increased their div by 6.3% adding $30.48
- Disney reinstated their dividend. Will this be semi-annual? who knows but right now they are coming in at 0.30 cents per share. Add $18.30
- National Bank they increased theirs by 4% adding a monster $2.08
Total incremental income from dividend increases in 2023 – $194.96
Gotta love months like this. Couchetard is an absolute monster. One that I would easily be over 100% if I didn’t keep adding to our position as well.

These months keep getting delayed. It’s all good, slowly but surely it will come back. We got our first payment from Costco. man what a stock i’ve held it for a little over a month and it’s up 15%. Those underperformers still remain in the portfolio, be sure to hold some of those as well.

In October (We always get paid a month later) our solar system produced 374 kWh. Since we carry a flat rate of 28.8 cents per kilowatt hour, Hydro One filed $103.16 in our checking account this month.
Last September the system was created $122.73, so we were a bit behind once again

It’s always nice to see these totals go up, but with 4k to go I’m clearly going to miss the mark. I love how the portfolio is changing though. It should benefit us in the future.
November Stock Markets
AP.UN – Allied Property Reit. High risk high reward game. I think this company is very underrated. After selling all our properties last year, I thought now was the right time to come back. Interest rates should stop their massive incline and should hold steady or possibly decline next year as mortgages mature. The company has a lot of debt, but sold its data center portfolio for 1.3 billion. These proceeds will be used to pay down debt and also pay a special dividend to shareholders in January. Rbc gives Allied a fair value of $31.25 and its trade is almost half of that. It offers monster performance and has even increased it this year.
We bought 280 shares at $17.61 per share.
This purchase adds $504 in forward dividends. =)
Bam – Brookfield Asset Management – We added to the bang position once again this month. Great company and one I definitely want to increase our holdings in. Last month we bought 26 shares at $42.88 per share.
Add $33.28 in forward income
In total we added $537.28 in future dividend income. A huge jump, let’s see how it plays out.

Bitcoin continues to tear things up, up 20% year-to-date compared to last month. If blackrock’s bitcoin etf is approved, get ready to see even more.
