3 steps to start your social media management business
Deciding on your platforms
As an online business owner, you decide which platforms you will choose to work with.
You may have a lot of experience with specific platforms, or you may decide that you want to post to multiple platforms and offer full-stack social media management services.
Whichever route you choose to take, it’s important to remember that each social media platform has its own intricacies and will require a different approach.
For example, TikTok is more of an outreach platform. Most of the people who see your content on TikTok are people who don’t follow you, so if you became a TikTok Strategist, you need to create and design content that works well for people who don’t really know your customers yet. top of funnel content.
Whereas Instagram is more about cultivating your audience and cultivating a community to attract high ticket customers.
Sites like Pinterest are search-based, and you’ll need knowledge of things like SEO and keyword research in order to generate great customer results.
Nailing the niche and your ideal customer
The next step is to approach your niche and your ideal customer.
Your niche is the industry you want to work in, while your ideal client is WHERE you want to work together.
If you’re brand new to social media marketing and management, you might want to try working with clients in different industries to see who you enjoy working with the most.
You may naturally thrive in certain industries, and if you have previous work experience in a particular field, that may be a good place to start.
Of course, if you have a specific niche, it will be easier to get your messages across and give your copy some creative flair when marketing your social media management business.
However, if you understand who your ideal customer is, what their problems and wants are, your messaging will be good enough to sign clients.
Familiarity with your Messages
Your messaging is how you communicate your offering to your ideal customers and make it desirable.
It can be the difference between attracting low-ball clients and those who don’t bat an eyelid paying 4 figures+ a month for your services.
MANY Social Media Managers drive themselves into unnecessary stress and burnout because they seriously LIABLE for their services because they are used to hearing phrases like “it’s too much” or “I can’t afford it now”.
