For WordPress enthusiasts, especially those in Asia, the beginning of the year is a time of excitement – it’s time for WordCamp Asia! This year, the event will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, from March 7 to 9.
WordCamp is a live conference dedicated to the world’s favorite open source content management system, WordPress. Beginners, seasoned developers, entrepreneurs, and everyone in between come together to learn, network, and contribute to the future of WordPress. Think of it as a melting pot of ideas, experiences and inspiration fueled by the power of community effort.
WordCamp Asia 2023 was the first in the region. The electrifying event was watched by 1,299 people worldwide and more than 3,000 people watched the live stream. This year, around 2,000 people are expected to attend WordCamp Asia 2024. More than 50 speakers will deliver insightful talks, interactive discussions and workshops on all things WordPress.
And of course, you’ll find Hostinger right in the heart of the action. We’ll be there to connect with you and share our passion for WordPress.
We are thrilled to be at WordCamp Asia 2024 as a Jade Mountain sponsor. “It’s our commitment to give back to the WordPress community,” says Domantas Gudeliauskas, WordPress Marketing Director. More than 60% of the websites hosted on us are based on WordPress, so it’s important to us to support the community that is the backbone of this open source project.
Domantas also emphasizes that Hostinger attends WordCamps because we want to meet and connect with our customers in person. By gathering direct feedback and information from them, we can offer the best hosting experience possible.
Saulius Lazaravičius, our Head of Product, echoes this sentiment. “I strongly believe that the success of our products starts with two of Hostinger’s principles – customer obsession and action bias. Every WordCamp we attend is an opportunity to learn personally from our customers. That way, our products can constantly evolve with them, fueled by their needs and aspirations,” he explains.

So if you’re attending this year’s WordCamp Asia, we invite you to stop by our vibrant black and white booth. You can chat with us, consult with our experts, ask burning questions and discover how Hostinger solutions can further your online dreams. Our team members from various departments will be there, including product, customer success and marketing, so feel free to chat with the people relevant to your question.
Experience our products firsthand, like the user-friendly hPanel, and visit our roadmap to see the latest features we’ve used and what’s coming soon. You can also find inspiration from real success stories shared by our customers. Their journeys are a testament to the power of our platform and its community.

But that is not all. Justina Bučinskaitė, our head of creative campaign, encourages you to visit our booth to bring home some vibrant swag. “Following on from our last WordCamps, we’ll be bringing exclusive, sustainable merchandise that celebrates the love of WordPress. Also, don’t miss the chance to enter our exciting raffle for amazing prizes that will take your online journey to new heights.”
Our contribution to WordPress
Sponsoring WordCamp Asia 2024 is our way of showing support, but our commitment goes beyond financial support. Our team members are actively engaged in the WordPress community through volunteering and participating in core projects.
Volunteering with passion
This year, two of our team members are volunteering their WordPress expertise.
WordPress content specialist Leonardus Nugraha will return to the AV team as a photographer. “Last year was my first time volunteering and participating in an iconic WordCamp. It was really an amazing experience to collaborate and connect with other WordPress and contribute to the event,” he says.
Leo emphasizes the value of learning in the WordPress community and plans to get more involved during the conference days. “This year, I’m looking forward to working with more new people. I will try to find a balance between learning from others in the volunteer group as well as the conference in general, and making more connections in the WordPress community,” he explains.
He is joined by Emma Young, our head of content. Emma will also be volunteering on the AV team, reprising her role at WordCamp Asia 2023 as an interviewer.
Contribute to the Open Source Project
In addition to volunteering, Leo and Emma will also participate in Contributor Day – a dedicated day during WordCamps where contributors from all teams work together on a project.
“Partner Day is one of my favorite parts of WordCamp. I usually try to volunteer on conference days and contribute on Contributors Day. I love signing up for lots of tables and then joining the ones I’ve never been to before,” says Emma.
For Emma, the collaborative energy and connections forged during this event are invaluable. “I am most looking forward to the collaboration because it will be personal. You can finally see and talk to people you usually talk to online. Get a lot more done in less time. The energy is high and it’s just fun,” he explains.
Leo agrees with Emma about the thrill of attending Partner Day. Also, this year will be even more exciting for him as he will get to co-supervise the Documentation board for the first time.

Not only Emma and Leo, but other members of the Hostinger team will also participate in the Contributor Day. Some will join boards directly related to their work. Our CMO, Kristina Strimaitė, will join the Marketing panel and Customer Experience Manager, Ričardas Kudirka, will contribute to the Support panel. Some will move between boards to get a broader perspective on WordPress. For example, Emma will split her time between Marketing and Docs.
In addition to participating in Contributor’s Day, one of our team members also leads the ongoing development of WordPress. Leo currently joins the WordPress 6.5 release team as the co-head of Docs. His task is to ensure smooth documentation for the upcoming release. This version will be in the development phase during WordCamp Asia 2024.
Organizing WordCamp Europe Torino 2024
Looking beyond WordCamp Asia, Emma and Marco Chiesi, the head of WordPress, are also involved in organizing the next flagship WordCamp – WordCamp Europe 2024 in Turin, Italy.
Emma joins the content team. “Right now, we’re going through almost 500 speaker applicants and starting the vetting process,” he says, sharing a glimpse of the process.
Meanwhile, Marco is on the Local Team, drawing on his knowledge of the city and country. He is responsible for securing patronage from local bodies, such as the Municipality.
“It might sound a bit paradoxical as I live 600 kilometers away from Turin while the other members of the team live there or nearby. However, we have weekly team meetings and share the to-do list and progress,” says Marco.
Enjoy WordCamp Asia 2024, Enjoy Taiwan
So, are you ready to join the festivities at WordCamp Asia? Visit the official WordCamp Asia 2024 website to get your tickets, check the program and learn about Visa applications.
Just like its motto, “Celebrate WordPress, Experience Asia”, the organizers go the extra mile by providing various supporting information on the website. There are special pages for local cuisines, hotel options, useful apps, free tours of Taipei and the directory of Muslim prayer halls. They even created a special page for the beloved foam tea!
For the schedule, the current version is still subject to change. There will be an announcement when it is fully confirmed, so stay tuned over the next few days.
Similar to all flagship WordCamps, there will be a few side events you can participate in. These events are great opportunities to network and have fun with other WordPress enthusiasts. Our team loves to tour multiple events as there are usually several events or parties going on at the same time.
We look forward to meeting you all in Taipei! Feel free to say hello and let’s take a look at the WordPress ecosystem together.
