What is Nickelytics?
Nickelytics is a mobile advertising company that pays freelancers to put ads on their cars and drive as usual.
How does it work
To register, you must download the Nickelytics app via the Apple App Store or Google Play. You’ll also fill in some information about how much and where you drive, the type of car you have and other basic information.
The site will then ask you to keep the app running in the background so it can track your movement. This is to make sure you meet the requirements and find a campaign that works where you drive.
Requirements
However, to be eligible for a campaign you must:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- Have a clean driving record
- Your vehicle must not be more than 10 years old
- You must drive at least 30 miles/day, 150 miles/week and 600 miles/month
- Transport and delivery drivers preferred but not required.
Nickelytics Review
If you receive a campaign, the site will present you with a contract stating the name of the advertiser, the length and requirements of the campaign, and the payment. You have the right to accept or decline.
If you accept the campaign, the site will arrange an appointment to pick up your car. And the site will expect you to keep the Nickelytics app running in the background on your phone so it can track your location data and report it to the advertiser.
What if you don’t meet the requirements in a given month? Then your payment may be withheld. Carlo Chica, director of operations at Nickelytics, says this rarely happens. Less than 1% of drivers’ payments have been withheld for non-performance in the past three years, he says.
Payment
Nickelytics says the site generally pays $150 to $175 per month for a partial wrap and $250 per month when you wrap the entire car. However, occasionally a campaign will pay up to $500 per month.
Importantly, other than driving a set number of miles per month in a campaign area — which you would do anyway if you qualify for a campaign — no additional work is required to earn this pay.
The catch;
There aren’t many campaigns — especially if you live and work in a relatively rural area.
And Nickelytics has had some technical glitches with its mileage tracking software that has many users complaining that the app just wasn’t tracking their miles. The site says it is aware of the software bug and believes it has been fixed.
recommendations
There are three reliable companies that provide car advertising campaigns. And, if you drive a lot, you might want to sign up for them all to increase your chances of getting a gig. Like Nickelytics, other car advertising companies have more potential drivers than advertisers. Well, figure you might get a gig once or twice a year if you’re lucky.

What users say about Nickelytics (from the Apple App Store)
I’ve used the app for about 6 weeks, sometimes it logs miles, sometimes they just go away. Definitely driven enough to at least hear from someone about a possible contract or something. Just nothing. It is certain that they are just selling the tracking data. This also really drains your battery.
In less than a month I put almost 8000 miles on my car. I thought they would use me for advertising because of the large demographic that was driven to So Cal. No. High Desert (Joshua Tree) in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs) to Orange County (Irvine) in downtown Los Angeles.
From Google Play
So I had a set-to always and I have the app open and I did quite a few miles yesterday and it doesn’t show any of the miles I did yesterday and if I press refresh every time I press refresh increase but then when I do go back to see my trip log showing 0 miles. I was offered a campaign that was supposed to start on November 6th for 10 months. I don’t understand how I will get paid correctly if the app can’t track my miles correctly. I have 2 phones 1 Android/Uber & 1 iPhone/Lyft not working on either
The app doesn’t track
I made sure I have all the permissions enabled, but the app still doesn’t track my miles. I drive for a living so I should have accumulated a few miles but instead everyday shows 0 miles driven
Mileage tracking is not working. I set the location to always on. But I still have to open the app to actually track. And then the miles for the month reset to zero every day, so none are accrued.
